Restylane ® is a unique formulation of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance which occurs as an important structural element in the skin, and helps maintain moisture and volume in your skin. Each Restylane ® product is a clear gel containing microparticles of a specific size. This allows your physician to select the right combination of gels to obtain the effect you desire. Restylane ® can increase volume in your facial tissue to help attain a more youthful appearance.

Restylane ® adds volume to the skin tissue, restoring facial contours to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or enhance the lips. Areas commonly treated are the forehead, cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, and the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.

You should have a clear idea of your desired results, and clearly express them to your physician.

Small amounts of Restylane ® are injected directly into your skin using a fine needle. To minimize discomfort during the treatment, your physician may anesthetize the treatment area.

After any injection, you may experience swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration, and tenderness. This will typically last less than a week

A typical treatment with Restylane ® can cost as low as $500. Because each treatment may be tailored to your specific requests, costs may vary.

Exact duration of effect depends on many factors including the treatment area and should be discussed with the physician.

Launched in 1996 in Europe by Swedish manufacturer Q-Med AB, Restylane ® was the first hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler used to add lost volume and enhance facial contours to attain a more youthful appearance. Since then over 9 million treatments have been performed.
