Who will perform the injections?

At The Institute of Cosmetic Surgery by Fustok, Dr. Abdel Fustok does all his own injectable procedures. Dr. Fustok’s patients benefit from a plastic surgeon’s expertise, training and decades of experience.

What happens in the doctor’s office before the treatment?

Before the injection procedure, Dr. Abdel Fustok will go over your medical history, discuss your wants and needs and the outcome you are trying to achieve and whether you are a good candidate for RHA® Collection.

Dr. Abdel Fustok will examine your skin in and around the treatment area, and will take photos of areas being treated. Then he will go over and review with you what to expect during and after the treatment and discussing any possible risks.

Next, the treatment area will be cleaned and prepared and sterilized. RHA® is injected into the treatment area using the thinnest possible needle to ensure patients remain comfortable throughout the procedure. This can be completed in as little as 15-30 minutes. Dr. Abdel Fustok may also apply an ice pack to help decrease swelling and pain.

The number of injections and the amount of product necessary varies depending on your needs and aesthetic goals.

What happens after the treatment?
There is no downtime after the injection. It is typical after the procedure to have some bruising, swelling, pain, tenderness, redness, lumps and/or bumps at the injection site which will go away on their own within a few days. For the next 24 hours avoid exercising and exposure to sun, cold or heat (sauna, steam room). Exposure to any of these for the first 24 hours may increase short term redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site.

The RHA® Collection injectables are designed to be long-lasting with results lasting up to 15 months. Over time, the hyaluronic acid is naturally metabolized by the body. Dr. Fustok will follow up with 2 to 4 weeks after initial injection and a Touch-up can and may be performed 2 to 4 weeks after the initial injection. Some patients may require a touch-up treatment to achieve the desired aesthetic results.

What Sculptra® Aesthetic

Sculptra® is the only FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that stimulates and rebuilds collagen production within the skin and works gradually by restoring facial volume, filling in wrinkles and folds over time. This results in a softer, more natural youthful appearance that can last up to 2 years.

Collagen is the key structural component that keeps the skin looking smooth and youthful. As we age, our skin’s natural collagen supply decreases, wrinkles start to form, losing facial volume, creating a flattened, sagging or sunken/hollow look.

Where can Sculptra® be injected?

Sculptra® can be used to restore fullness to medium to deep facial wrinkles, such as smile lines, marionette lines (the lines from your nose to corners of your mouth), and chin wrinkles and other sunken and hollow areas such as cheeks and temples.

How is Sculptra® different that other dermal fillers?

Not all dermal fillers are created the same. Dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm® , Restylane® and RHA® are fillers made of hyaluronic acid (HA) that immediately binds with nearby water molecules adding volume and plumping the treatment area producing immediate results.

Sculptra® is made from poly-L-Lactic acid that triggers your body to produce its own collagen gradually adding volume over time correcting lines and creases, lifting the skin and giving a more natural, refreshed, youthful look that lasts longer.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments vary from person to person. The average treatment consists of three injectable treatments over the course of 3-4 months.

Is the procedure painful?

Topical numbing and local anesthetic is applied to eliminate and minimize any discomfort.

How long does the procedure take?

Treatment takes less than an hour.

Who will perform the injections?

All Sculptra® injections treatments are performed in-office by Dr. Abdel Fustok, a licensed plastic surgeon and trained provider.

How is the Sculptra® treatment performed?

Dr. Abdel Fustok will map the injection sites for facial area being treated. A topical numbing and local anesthetic is applied to eliminate and help with any discomfort. Next injecting Sculptra® with a needle injecting into the deeper layer of skin with multiple injections in small amounts throughout the treatment area. After the Sculptra® injections, the area which was treated will be massaged to distribute the product evenly and apply ice to minimize swelling.

How soon will I see results from Sculptra?

Sculptra® is not a HA filler. You will not see immediate results. Sculptra® stimulates and rebuilds collagen production, your results appear gradually over a few weeks as your body produces creating a fuller, more youthful looking skin restored from the inside out

Is there any downtime?

No downtime, you can return to your normal activities after treatment. Plan two weeks ahead of any upcoming events.

Are there any side effects?

The side effects of Sculptra® are minimal, some may experience bruising, swelling and redness at the injection site.

How long will my results last?

Sculptra® will last for two years in most patients.

How much does Sculptra® cost?

As with other cosmetic injectable treatments, the cost of Sculptra® may vary from patient to patient depending on their individual wants/needs and desired results looking to achieve.
